No thank you. They've been relegated - we need to be looking up, not down.

This.

FFS!

This!

Always surprised at these kind of threads. Unless there’s an obvious sensational player (ie a Grealish level), then no.

With the greatest respect, I disagree. You can’t put a relegation of a squad of 25 onto one player. There are some seriously talented players there - the fact they were in a relegated team means little to me. Ake may be off to a big club for example...

You cannot judge a player on a whole squads’ failings - there are many top players who have been relegated before.

You have a point, and I have commented recently that Callum Wilson might do a job.

What I objected to in this thread was a great long list of players (which was posted) and the slightly ghoulish inference that we might go body snatching after three train crashes.

But my reply may have been a little one-eyed.

What do you think about my Pukki suggestion? I’ve always thought he’s looked very good. Reminds me of Vydra a bit.

Brooks and Harry Wilson from PLB the only ones worth a look for me, young coachable.

Sarr looks good but think we could spend the money more effectively elsewhere as Watford paid a fee and he'll be on a good wage.

Ake will be too expensive.

Yes, I think it's the list thing that puts me off too. We're not going to go and buy a load of players and do a Fulham or Aston Villa (even though in the latter case it worked, just about). Neither are we in the business of looking for bargains in the £5 - 8 - 10 - maybe even £15M price range - we need players who will be significant improvements on what we had. Like Lallana.
We've got Alzate and Molumby back for next season, as well as White - and maybe Gyokeres, Clarke and Ostigaard too. Exciting times - and competition for places! Someone else of the experience and stature of Lallana would be great - and probably the only target we need to get for next season.
Players - even the better ones - from the relegated teams? Maybe, of the likely lads listed, Deeney might be the best, but I'm not sure he fits our - or GP's - profile. Last season, arguably, one of the best from the relegated teams was Mooy - and although he's been OK, he's been no more than that; he hasn't lifted us to the next level, has he.

He had a great start to the season, but then seemed to lose his way towards the end, not even making the first eleven. I haven't done a full investigation myself but I heard it remarked on the telly he has a career of blowing hot and cold. Rather like a 'Diet' Mo Salah.

Edit: these are his stats.....for a 30 year old, he looks a bit of a Maupay downgrade....

Anyway, he's a fluffy bearded scandinavian who looks like he's just stepped out of a 1970s German porn mag, so it's 'yes' from me :lolol:

As I see it Pukki is basically a slightly worse version of Maupay. Who is better and far younger.

It’s a type of player we already have.

Callum Wilson is a more interesting one as he’d be a good replacement for a Murray type. But even so, I’d prefer to either go for “Lamptey” type signings, or proven winner, swan song “Lallana” type signings.

So who should we swoop for?

Seems to be few players in this years relegated teams who might be worth a look

Foster
Sarr
Deulofeu
Doucoure
Wilson
King
Brooks
Ake
Solanke
Cantwell
Buendia
Godfrey
Pukki

Solanke :lolol: :lolol: Me recreating the remains of my dead grandma from her ashes would be a better option.

David Brooks every day of the week, seriously talented young midfielder been unlucky with a couple of injuries. Would be a tremendous centre midfield asset.

Harry Wilson isn’t a Bournemouth player. Or very good, tbh.

Had no idea he was that old. Was just going in what I’d seen and he impressed me at the Amex. Not sure anyone will go in for him now.

Depends though..... If he's circa 10m he would be a steal for rotation with maupay and Connolly.

11 goals in a joke of a team is not to be sniffed at.

Put it another way he would be less of a gamble than a young foreigner banging them in, I dunno, in the French league and costing 40 million !!!
