Player Ratings Vs. Swindon

I don't know if people are going to be up for this, but following on from complaints about the random nature of the player ratings, I thought we could try a one of experiment.

For one game only (unless it proves successful, which I seriously doubt) I think it would be interesting if everyone uses the following basis for their ratings

0 = Shouldn't even play park football

1 = Clearly not ready for professional football

2 = Is not ready/good enough for us based on this performance

3 = A liability, major mistakes, cost us

4 = Largely anonymous, didn't do anything stand out good or bad

5 = Average

6 = Good performance, but one or two big errors

7 = Very good performance, only minor errors

8 = Excellent performance. Top of his game for league 1, more of this and he'll be snapped up by a higher team

9 = Not likely to have a game as good as this again this season

10 = Perfection. Completely flawless

I imagine some people will be unhappy with this scale, I apologise, but no one will come up with scale to everyone's liking, and this is just one game, it's just an experiment.

These definitions are just a standardised explanation to give you an idea of what sort of performance is a 7 on this scale. You can still give your own explanations, for example "7 - gave a very good performance, cut out their attacks regularly, set up one of our goals and was a threat going forward, was a bit inaccurate with a few passes in each half"

I am posting this before the game in the hopes people will see it and take it into consideration while contemplating the performances. I will bump it around full-time ready for when people get back from the game.

Thank you if you go along with it.

If you don't want to go along with it, feel free to add your own ratings here, but if you could make a note in your post to make it clear you're not following this scale? Thanks

6 is the average

we are all raised on champ

you are optimistic if you think this is going to take as standard, or even if i'm going to bother to read it. i imagine this goes for everyone, despite the fact i have just bumped it to the top again.

what can i say, i'm bored... come on the seagules

But you did read it, or else you wouldn't know I hadn't made 6 average (because there are 6 options below six and only four above it (0,1,2,3,4,5 below it and 7,8,9,10 above it, whereas 5 has 5 below and five above)

the first thing i saw was the 5 rate and i instantly TOOK MASSIVE EXCEPTION TO IT!!

lol, just kidding. you'll need to revolutionise champ manager to start each game on 5 before this takes, THEN you'll have to talk to all national and local newspapers... a herculean, NAY, sisyphean task! you bluddy nuttar

edit: haha i just read it after the above 'rant' hahahaha it's quite a good standard but IT WILL NEVER TAKE

it's like socialism - a good idea that just won't work

(due to dictators inevitably corrupting the system... like the complete badger for example!) ...just kidding mr badger. god love you..

Yeah, I don't think it'll work, just wanted to prove it wouldn't work to people on here who complain about the ratings each week.

Generally poor performance from most today.

Brezovan 6 Did nothing wrong 2 saves and 50% success rate.
Calderon 7 Quite good performace while playing on the right not his fault he was switches and was lost.
Elphick 8 MOM Good performance
El Abd 6 Reasonably sound couple of mistakes but generally ok.
Painter 6 Solid performance but was sacrificed to chase a goal.
Bennett 4 Poor couldnt beata player and his set piece balls were poor.
Croft 5 Game drifted past him
Navarro 5 Too many misplaced passes
Dicker 6 Best of a poor midfield today
Lua Lua 5 Promises plenty but delivers a little.
Murray 6 Plenty of effort but needs support.
Subs;

Holdroyd 3 Waste of the detergent to wash his kit. Did absoluyely nothing.
Forster 5 Not on long enough should have been on 15 mins earller at least.

Management 3 Cost us the game as it was blatantly obvious that Forster should have come on at half time and we gone 4 - 4- 2
I am begining to think that Poyet is getting out thought at half time as we looked ok in the first half but they brought on another midfielder and completely nulified us. We have 3 defensive midfielders who cannot get forward if piushing for a goal.

I get the feeling that Lua Lua could beat 20 players (the whole opposition outfield twice) drive a rasping shot from 35 yards into the top right corner and then do it again in the second half and Bensgrandad will still only give him an average rating!!!!

Blimey, that's what I love about football it's all about opinions! I thought they played well. In fact I would have given Elphick an 8! I thought he was calm, assured and very affective.

But, as I say, it would be boring if we all agreed!

Surely a joke, El Abd nearly gave a goal away
