I don't know if people are going to be up for this, but following on from complaints about the random nature of the player ratings, I thought we could try a one of experiment.
For one game only (unless it proves successful, which I seriously doubt) I think it would be interesting if everyone uses the following basis for their ratings
0 = Shouldn't even play park football
1 = Clearly not ready for professional football
2 = Is not ready/good enough for us based on this performance
3 = A liability, major mistakes, cost us
4 = Largely anonymous, didn't do anything stand out good or bad
5 = Average
6 = Good performance, but one or two big errors
7 = Very good performance, only minor errors
8 = Excellent performance. Top of his game for league 1, more of this and he'll be snapped up by a higher team
9 = Not likely to have a game as good as this again this season
10 = Perfection. Completely flawless
I imagine some people will be unhappy with this scale, I apologise, but no one will come up with scale to everyone's liking, and this is just one game, it's just an experiment.
These definitions are just a standardised explanation to give you an idea of what sort of performance is a 7 on this scale. You can still give your own explanations, for example "7 - gave a very good performance, cut out their attacks regularly, set up one of our goals and was a threat going forward, was a bit inaccurate with a few passes in each half"
I am posting this before the game in the hopes people will see it and take it into consideration while contemplating the performances. I will bump it around full-time ready for when people get back from the game.
Thank you if you go along with it.
If you don't want to go along with it, feel free to add your own ratings here, but if you could make a note in your post to make it clear you're not following this scale? Thanks
