Phone contract coming to an end - Advice please!

What is the signal like? I assume it uses Vodafone, o2 or EE network.

Yeah they piggy back on vodafone .....it's pretty good in most places but not great in Lewes

I am looking at changing - for reasons unexplained by our provider (Utility Warehouse) none of our 4 family phones worked whilst on our hols in France this summer. This despite working fine in the two previous years and having done all the necessary beforehand and getting the usual confirmation texts back. We managed to email whilst out there, Utility Warehouse couldn't sort it out but the phones managed to burst into life on the evening of our final day!

Any recommendations for a network that will work reliably both here and in France? Lookin at Virgin at the moment.
