Interesting that the Tories (rightly or wrongly) appear to be the party of tax and spend in the city.

BTW, what is this stuff about the Government's OAP (tut, tut - should be 'Senior Citizens') Bus Pass fiasco? What's all that about?

I've got no objections to them raising parking prices - so long as they provide adequate parking both in the city centre and the suburbs and accept that cars have a major role to play in any transport plan, local or national.

I actually think parking is too cheap and I'd like to see the residents' parking permits extended across all of BN1 at least. I'd also like to see it agressively tiered so that in a household with two cars the permit for the second car is three or four times the price of the permit for the first car.
