Yes, it's pretty thorough. Be interesting to see what happens over the summer. I suspect it won't be too dissimilar to the last one, which is fine by me. Hopefully Ashworth has put the structures in place, and Weir can just operate within them (so long as they don't need adapting). It's also worth highlighting the role of Paul Winstanley, who isn't referred to in that article and not to mention our scouting team, which certainly seems excellent in Poland and South America (Ali Mac and Moises).

Interesting that we only sold Ali J on for 900k when he cost £17m and Bernardo, Locadia, and Izzy all went for free having cost us close to £40m.

It shows the tough nature of the transfer market. When it goes wrong, it really can go wrong.

On the flip side White and Burn sales for the best part of £65m is impressive, and the value of Trossard, Webster, Biss, Mwepu, Caiceido, Lamptey, Sanchez, Cucurella has surely at least doubled if not trebled in many cases.

Swings and roundabouts.

That is a detailed read on our transfer dealings, could be informative for some people but likely you will know the majority of the content already. The area it fails to explain is that we are very much near the beginning of the transfer model and the next phase will be to sell our assets in their peak years for large sums. This summer could see a couple move on who have been key players in the team so the challenge will be how we adapt without them.

Swings and roundabouts…..sort of.
Or perhaps we have improved our trading quite a lot.
I don’t believe we would sign another Locadia or AJ now.
equally I doubt we’d have held out for £50m for Ben White, or equivalent, back then.

Not sure you can quote these 3 in the same way - Izzy was injured ( sure that should have been covered by some sort of risk insurance policy) had he not been injured we would have had a decent player on our hands capable of changing games. Bernardo played a number of games , one of those who played ok and then played less ok and perhaps was not given a run/chance by Potter. Lost some on him but the fact he was in the squad for 2 years means we got some return on the £9million. Locadia was a rushed panic buy and we got burnt.
