Albion boss Oscar Garcia has lost out to Burnley's Sean Dyche in the Championship manager of the month award for April.
The Seagulls' head coach was on the shortlist with Dyche, Leicester's Nigel Pearson and Ian Holloway of Millwall after his team's seven-match unbeaten run.
Dyche has won the prize following Burnley's promotion, sealed by 13 points from six games last month.Albion need a favour from Dyche's Burnley at Reading tomorrow. The Seagulls, away to Nottingham Forest, need to better Reading's result to pip them to the play-offs.
