Football and rugby stadia staff from all across the country celebrated their ‘off the pitch’ successes at The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2014 on 5 June at the KC Stadium, the home of Hull City Tigers. The awards recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at football and rugby stadiums across the UK.

Out of the nine categories, the club was shortlisted for four of them and won the Gold award for Matchday Hospitality at a Medium sized stadium (between 30,000 to 40,000 capacity), the Gold Award for the Directors’ Choice, voted for by boardroom guests, beating challenges from Manchester City and Chelsea, and silver in the Media Choice Award nominated by the press who vote for the best catering they receive at all the clubs on a matchday - Albion were just beaten by Manchester City but pushed Arsenal into third place.
Martin Perry, director, attended the award ceremony with* club caterers Sodexo. He said, “These awards are a fantastic accolade for the Club and Sodexo. They are voted for by colleagues from other clubs or members of the press association who actually experience the hospitality that we provide so it’s a real tribute to the hard work and commitment by our staff and Sodexo staff.
Special mention should go to Sodexo who, across all the other clubs they provide catering services at (including Newcastle United and Everton), managed to win at least one award in every category, sometimes more than one, including two of their trainees being honoured as Rising Stars. This is a wonderful testament to their training and staff development.”
