Turns out my brother has exceptionally good eye sight! We had to view it from the railings but I had my camera and used the 12x zoom to confirm.

Reckon they are covering the wall and edge of the pitch in preperation for either another coat of blue, or for painting the AMEX logo.

Yeah, looks like they've covered the walls & pitch as they're going around again now with a fresh coat of blue paint being sprayed on.

That plastic cover is still over the entrance in the bottom of the picture, left of centre, and it's really starting to bug me now.
