England started briskly but then lost Jones (hooking again!). Currently:

England 411/8d & 226/6 (62.5 ov)
South Africa 419 England lead by 218 runs with 4 wickets remaining

Surely a tricky hour or so for England but if they can pile on a few runs and not lose wickets now we will at least not lose the game, with an outside chance of winning the game if SA crumble under presure. I still want a lead of at least 275 and bat nearly up until lunch.

The weather has taken it's toll and I can't see this ending up as anything other than a draw, it would take something fairly special for either team to win it.

Think we are now safe from the loss. Should be a draw but you never know, nerves could get the better of the South Africans if they lose a couple of wickets early on.

We shouldn't bat too long, the light is bad and if we do knock a couple of the South Africans over early doors you never know.

Shame our bowling attack is so depleted.

Giles gone.

Lead of 264 with 3 wickets remaining. another 20 runs needed to be safe I think.

South Africa needs 325 at about 4.77 an over. No chance. If England can get a couple of quick wickets we've really game on.

South Africs 2/0 at lunch.

Anyone know why De Villiers is opening the batting? Is Smith still nursing a sore head?

Correct. That is indeed the reason.
