I've been offered NTL Broadband for £17.99 per month with free installation and the first 3 months free. I'm currently on AOL paying £15.99 per month with the 56k dial-up.

Should I switch ?

Yes but for that price you get 128kbps. We had that for 6 months and have now gone onto 600kbps at £25.

No complaints from me

It's brilliant provided the fucker works. They really leave you to your own dvices with the set-up, and the helpline is a nightmare. Having said that, when you do get through the right person, they are extremely helpful.

AOL is for ****s. :tosser:

You decide.

Does the job and £17.99 supposedly gets you 150K connection now. E-mail server has been temperamental at times but seems to have been fixed now.

If you have XP, you'll probably have to ring support to get the thing installed as the CD provided doesn't have quite work properly. You get an error which I can't remember but they give you a fix straight away and no more problems thereafter.

I gave up totally with broadband - Freeserve wouldn't work and wouldn't help either.

BT - far superior cutomer service but still couldn't get it to work either.

Went back to Freeserve Anytime in the end.

You sure your PC had the spec to accomodate broadband, Beach Hut ?

I'm no expert by any means, but I gather you do need at least 64mb of RAM to be able to have broadband on your PC...

Yep - xp the lot only a year old.

I found out later I might not have the right card to power a modem and to their credit BT offered a refund on the modem and said I could try and buy my own.

Problem was after two weeks NSC withdrawal symptoms set in so I went back to what I knew had worked previously.

I would definately recommend NTL 600k. I've got it connected to 3 computers and my PS2 and it's still super fast, definately worth it!:clap2:

Our 600k is networked to two puters. We are both online.

:lolol:

Lol no,

Look at the members signed in. Both Yorkie & Ned Ludd are signed in. We are on separate computers running off the same modem. He even uses MSN to get me to put the kettle on sometimes :lolol:

I usually say no :nono:

FIGHT!

Which one of you 2 will call the cops first for domestic violence?
Or will this be the first online NSC divorce?
