Rather than place any trust in the rail network's disinformation boards, might be good to have a thread dedicated to giving some hard information to fellow NSCers on what is actually happening on the trains, from people who are on them or waiting for them.

Service 1 between Portslade (Battle of Trafalgar) and Old Steine running every 20 minutes

Service 46 between Portslade Station and Old Steine only: departures from Portslade at 04 and 34 minutes past the hour and from Old Steine at 03 and 33 minutes past the hour

Service 49 between The Avenue and Old Steine only: this is now running every half an hour with departures from both The Avenue and Old Steine at 00 and 30 minutes past the hour

Latest from Brighton & Hove Buses

Thursday 2 December 9.10am

Unfortunately due to the really heavy snow and abandoned vehicles most roads are impassable but we have fitted several buses with snow chains and we are now able to operate the following services:

Service 1 between Portslade (Battle of Trafalgar) and Old Steine only running every 20 minutes. We are currently checking the state of Eastern Road and hope to be able to run past the County Hospital through to Arundel Road shortly. Please check back here for further information about this.

Service 5 - no service at present but we aim to start running between Carden Avenue and Blatchington Road fairly soon. More information will be here as soon as possible.

Service 46 between Portslade Station and Old Steine only: departures from Portslade at 04 and 34 minutes past the hour and from Old Steine at 03 and 33 minutes past the hour

Service 49 between The Avenue and Old Steine only: this is now being increased to running every twenty minutes with departures from both The Avenue and Old Steine at 00, 20 and 40 minutes past the hour.

It takes some time to fit a bus with snow chains and we are gradually operating more services as snow-chained buses become available. We are also out checking the roads to see what routes we could operate. In many places abandoned vehicles are as much of a problem as the snow in preventing buses getting through.

The poor weather conditions are set to prevail tomorrow, Friday 3rd December. As a result we will be operating a revised timetable with a reduced service running on a limited number of routes.
The service will generally start around 06.00 and continue until around 21.00
The revised timetable is as follows:
(We will shortly be publishing timings past each hour for each of the services)

MAIN LINE
A half-hourly service will run in both directions between Brighton and London Victoria calling at Haywards Heath, Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport, Redhill and East Croydon.

A half-hourly service will run in both directions between London Bridge and Three Bridges calling at Norwood Junction, East Croydon, Purley, Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill, Earlswood, Salfords, Horley and Gatwick Airport.

WEST COASTWAY
A half-hourly service will run in both directions between Chichester and Brighton via Littlehampton calling at Barnham, Ford, Littlehampton, Angmering, Goring-by-Sea, Durrington-on-Sea, West Worthing, Worthing, Lancing, Shoreham by Sea, Southwick, Portslade and Hove.

EAST COASTWAY
A half-hourly service will run in both directions between Eastbourne and Brighton calling at Hampden Park, Polegate, Glynde, Lewes, Falmer, Moulescomb and London Road.

An hourly service will run in both directions between Eastbourne and Hastings calling at Hampden Park, Pevensey & Westham, Cooden Beach, Collington, Bexhill and St Leonards Warrior Square.

LONDON METRO
A half-hourly service will run in both directions between London Victoria and Sutton calling at Battersea Park, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Common, Balham, Streatham Hill, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, Crystal Palace, Norwood Junction, West Croydon, Waddon, Wallington and Carshalton Beeches.
A half-hourly service will run between Victoria and Epsom calling at Battersea Park, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Common, Balham, Streatham Common, Norbury, Thornton Heath, Selhurst, West Croydon, Waddon, Wallington, Carshalton Beeches, Sutton, Cheam and Ewell East.
A half-hourly service will run in both directions between Victoria and East Croydon calling at Battersea Park, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Common, Balham, Streatham Common, Norbury, Thornton Heath, Selhurst, East Croydon.

A half-hourly service will run in both directions between London Bridge and Purley calling at New Cross Gate, Brockley, Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Penge West, Anerley, Norwood Junction, East Croydon, South Croydon and Purley Oaks.
We will be working hard overnight in very challenging operating conditions to keep routes open to try and deliver this level of service tomorrow.

Brighton Trains to london southern appear to be victoria at ten to and twenty past. I just left on 6.49. Thameslink are doin london bridge (stopper) at ten past and twenty to. Afraid do not know about east or west.
