Can someone dig out that quote after we played them in the league 1 season under Poyet, always good reading.

Achieved nothing at MK Dons, think I'll pass

our badge has been disgraced god dammit! our once proud club has been dragged through the gutter and caught big-time-itus in the process, we're not a big enough club for robinson, lets settle for the assistant jones to step up, the pride of the stripes depends on it

The Stephen Gleeson one?

'With the MK Dons currently flying high at the top of the league one table Stephen Gleeson has made a bold statement about how good the club are.

He, as he told MK News, feels that The Dons are better than Brighton were last season when they ran away with the league one title!

Even at the early stage he is confident that promotion will be achieved come May: 'I don't think Brighton are as good as us. I think we're better than Brighton were last year and hopefully it can continue.

'I think the way we are playing now shows every player we have signed is worthy of being here. This is a big club and we want to get into the Championship this year. We're not hiding it at all. The way we are playing at the moment, even though it's the start of September, I don't think we'll be far off.

Hopefully these will not be words that come back to haunt Gleeson!' (they did)

King Karl did say this last season:

Karl Robinson branded himself a 'magician' after guiding Milton Keynes Dons to a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over fellow Play-Off hopefuls Swindon Town at the County Ground.

George Baldock's late piledriver gave the Dons all three points after Antony Kay's equaliser cancelled out the opening goal from Michael Smith.

The visitors are six points behind sixth-placed Peterborough, but Robinson is unconvinced his side would be able to cut it in the Championship should they manage to sneak into the play-offs and then win promotion at Wembley.

Robinson said: "We're a million miles away if I'm honest. I think structurally we are ready but for me to get this team to seventh is a magician's trick.

"I've not spent any money, sold nearly £5million worth of players and not bought a player, so to still be competing year in, year out, it's credit to some wonderful people around me."

Can someone enlighten me as to exactly what Karl Robinson has achieved or done apart from try and compare his shambles of a team to the Poyet team that romped League One?

Come on now, he's nearly got MK Dons promoted at least five times now. When I say "nearly", I mean either getting to the play offs and failing, or failing to get to the play offs, despite better infrastructure than most of their division.

Hey...wait a second...

His teams at MK have always played attractive football in the Gus Poyet mould, which I'd love to see back. I think criticisms with regards to failing to get promoted are a little harsh, I'm pretty certain I've read over the last few years the budget there was considerably cut back. Unlike Gus he didn't throw a tantrums about any ceilings. He's also shown he can refresh/rebuild the side with the inevitable turnover in players over the years.

Whether he'd want to jump ship now, I don't know. I'm sure MK fans would think no chance and you could understand that with them looking rather good at the moment. That said, he's been there a long time, maybe he'd feel now is a good time to move on to a new challenge and if he's got faith in ability I'm sure he'd expect to keep us up.

I'm doubtful it'll be him though, I'm not sure its the right timing, one with MK doing well and two, in our situation, maybe we need someone experienced who'll just set us up and grind out results. I'm not sure if he'd be that guy.

Can't stand the bloke personally. I mean, if he got the job, I'd get behind him, but for now, I'm happy to reconfirm that I think he's a bit of an arsehat.
