This is my first post and like the lurker from yesterday I have been following North Stand Chat for a while.

Something about me;-

My dad first took to the Goldstone to watch Chelsea in 1966 or 67.
Ever since then I was hooked.
My then girl friend and now wife were avid supporters home and away.
Cup final 83, the train to Newcastle for the famous promotion etc etc.

Then the dreaded Mike Bailey saga, boring football co incided with the arrival of a new family and being skint so stopped going ( shame on me I know )

Then I went to a Fans Forum with Dick knight, Paul Samara etc and was amazed
by their dedication and spirit of the fans and returned as a season ticket holder at the Withdean.

I started following the posts on NSC about the time of the completion of the Amex and the emotion and dedication of you all shone through, amazing.

Now my daughter is also a season ticket holder and we are a group of 11 all loving the Amex expierience.

The stand or fall banner is fab, and the other day I adapted the words of Sussex by the Sea so I have copied below:-

Now is the time for the Albion, So sing as loud as you can
Hark to the sounds of the Amex, Where we stand man to man
So let your voices ring my boys and support the boys in blue
We will sing the song of the seagulls,
Albion through and through

Refrain
For we are the men from Sussex, Sussex by the Sea,
A special bond unites us,
Brighton fans are we,
When you talk of football, whoever you may be.
You may tell them that we stand or fall.
For Sussex by the Sea.

Good old Sussex by the Sea
Good old Sussex by the Sea
You may tell them that we stand or fall.
For Sussex by the Sea.

The Goldstone lost forever the sum of all our fears,
Now we have the Amex and listen to our cheers
We will sing along together and chant with all our might,
As we pay homage to the great man Dick Knight
And we sing this song as we all belong,
To Sussex by the Sea.

Refrain

Up early in the morning, start at the break of day,
We are all off to see Brighton play away
Sometimes the day is dreary, sometimes the result goes wrong
But if you let your voices ring, your cares will not last long
So we’ll sing along all season long,
Of Sussex by the Sea

Refrain

Far over seas the fans wander, wide thro’ the world they roam
Far from the stadium yonder, far from our fab new home
But never shall you forget my boys and true you’ll ever be
To the team in blue, the B H A
In Sussex by the sea

Refrain

We all support the Albion in a very passionate way
We set such high standards or so the stewards say
Home or away we are as loyal as can be
We are a band of brothers
In Sussex by the Sea

Refrain

Sorry if this post is so long and I bet this has been done before but hell who cares

You realise that you'll have to sing that solo at the next home game! If you're in the West Stand upper we'll hum the chorus, if you're in the north they will sing the chorus very, very quickly and then get another pint in!

Welcome from another old fart who was also at that Chelsea game.

Do you not think you're trying too hard mate.

That is a loooong old song...our lot struggle with the words to the current version....der der de der Derr der der derr der de der Durr ..and we're going up to win the cup for Sussex by the sea. Pretty piss poor effort.

Here's my one.

Now is the time for bumming
Now let us all be gay
Felching, rimming, cocking
The chocolate motorway
So let your shirts lift up my boys
And pillow bite with me
Cos were gay and proud
And we sing it ot loud
Were Brighton, the fairies.
