Not sure about this...... has hardly played ovetr the last year... is that because he is injured ( a no-no) or he's rubbish (a double no-no) or that he just doesn't fit the style of play at Colchester (quite possible then worth a look at).

Moot point as nothing can happen to January now.

Been perusing your board for a few days trying to work out whether the game will be on Saturday.

Hackney hasnt played much for us through a combination of injury, the fact that we have quite a few players in his position and him not exactly being a wonderful player. Hes not bad, easily a league one player, but he is hardly stand out either. Can't see a team at the top of the league one having him in your side regularly. Still, not a bad signing, he wont let you down, just wont get your pulses racing either.

Thanks for the assessment. He does seem like one of the more realistic transfer rumours, and at the very least he'll do a job for us in a position where we haven't got a specialist player.

Gus said he'll only sign players who will be a "dramatic improvement" on what we have, or an emergency. I don't think we're desperate enough to sign someone who would be, on the above assessment, an average signing, especially with the transfer window less than a month away.

The only positive I can think of from some of our coming games being postponed is that when we finally play them, we might have the special player on board.

Are Wordsworth and O'Toole still at Colchester? They would be good. Not exactly the wingers we are looking for but good attacking players.
