Potter was consistent with the way he handled the strikers. Gave them instructions and when things didn't work he chose other players and moved the strikers further from the pitch. Andone, Connolly, Maupay all caused headaches

Don't think Maupay should be compared to Andone or Connolly.

It was interesting that he got rid off AK without even managing him....

He had a process and if you didn't follow the process you were out , that has been successful so no complaints but has been found out at times.

We're better than Everon at the moment. Finished higher in the league last season too. Not sure if we've ever done that before - possibly once between 1980 and 1982? But, apart from Arsenal, Everton are the only team I can never remember being out of the first division/PL.

39K ground capacity (and a bloody sight more before the Taylor report), loads of league championships and FA Cup wins. Bigger club than us? Sorry, yes - just not as good as us at the moment. Perfectly happy to sell them our top goal scorer who'd probably be mostly on the bench here if it helps them a bit.

and on a good day what noisy bunch

Hasn't touched the ball tonight. Luxury player (for teams that think quilted toilet paper spells luxury).

How sad. Never mind.

Rather damning, l think Maupay a\lways works hard, does his best, (sometimes to no avail l'll grant you). That hardly spells "luxury player" to me. And he did after all score in his second home game.

Well let's face it Welbeck was never really a prolific goalscorer, far more to his game than that though.
Only team in the entire league where no striker has scored. Other than that you are right

Still managed to score more than half the league, including Manchester United and Chelsea. Welbeck has been key in that.

With what we’ve seen (or, lack of) from Undav, I would prefer a sulking Maupay to still be here. With hindsight a new manager may have prompted a new contract, but regardless the fee was probably not worth leaving Brighton with with the current striker options to at least January.
