Now over 8 hours of football without a goal from open play.

England are a hard watch at the moment.

Who perform far better for their clubs than for the National team.

Because we have a manager who's failing them because of absolutely shocking tactics considering the players we have. I would really love to see what someone like Potter could do with this squad of players. It's actually very impressive how just how boring, ponderous and uncreative southgate has made us given our attacking talent. Really wish we'd get rid after tonight despite no game between now and the world Cup

Aaaaaanddddddd our only defender who can pass a ball has done his ham string

He doesn’t even use that as a chance to experiment and mix the tactics up, Walker on… what an exciting tactical move.

How long did our run go on for at the end of the Hughton era? Feels similar.

One of the worst halves of football quality wise I’ve seen in a long time, and that’s both sides. Germany look dreadful.

Honestly the vibe I’m getting is similar to the end of Hughtons reign, the fans have given up and the players look bored themselves.

The atmosphere is as dull as the football.

The atmosphere is as dull as the football.

Nothing like the buzz of the build up to a WC, eh...

What a sad state of affairs - England being frustratingly shit because of a manger everyone knows is tactically inept (is it possible to be any more one dimensional?), and the WC itself being in a piece of shit country in the middle of our winter

I don’t understand why the atmosphere is so bad? I mean, they have a drum and everything.

4 defeats in a row, 6 games in a row without a goal. 2 draws and another defeat then finished off both the season and Hughton.

You're right, it's a very similar feeling. Devoid of confidence. Lacking in creativity. Trying not to lose rather than win.

The end may be nigh soon after Qatar.

Found myself agreeing with Souness this morning - essentially saying these matches are glorified friendlies and the players don’t much care, so they’re a wate of time. Far more focused on the upcoming weekend games.
