Oh yes. We must have one of those so I can post..." good news everyone. Only 15,873 people died today from Monkey pox compared to yesterday when 15,874 people died."

I love good news. It makes me feel so much better. Such a worthwhile thread.

The CGN thread was a very worthwhile thread, one of the most important threads in the history of NSC and helped many people, including myself, in times of uncertainty and you clearly didn't read it as your description proves.

What a silly, selfish post.

It was quite useful and beneficial. Wally.

Funny coincidence...

"The exercise scenario portrayed a deadly, global pandemic involving an unusual strain of monkeypox virus
that emerged in the fictional nation of Brinia and spread globally over 18 months. Ultimately, the exercise
scenario revealed that the initial outbreak was caused by a terrorist attack using a pathogen engineered
in a laboratory with inadequate biosafety and biosecurity provisions and weak oversight. By the end of
the exercise, the fictional pandemic resulted in more than three billion cases and 270 million fatalities
worldwide"... "Participants included 19 senior leaders and experts from across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and
Europe with decades of combined experience in public health, biotechnology industry, international
security, and philanthropy."

In the excerise, done in 2021, the "attack" started in May 2022.

An interesting watch. The gist of which centres on the fact (the source paper is peer reviewed and widely available) that the Wuhan Institute of virology in China has been researching Monkeypox and has claimed that it cannot obtain a sample of the virus so has manufactured a synthetic version.

It is very easy to get hold of a Monkeypox sample so this is very suspicious. And rather disturbing.

Anyway, I like this chap, Dr. John Campbell. Very level headed and explains things well .

Here he is giving a 5 min explanation of Monkeypox;

It's a very confused situation. I followed all the latest guidance about using a condom when having sex yet I still got kicked out of Whipsnade ffs.

UN expressing concerns on the reporting of the outbreak . Perhaps a rebrand would help as was done with Covid 19

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...obic-and-racist-reporting-on-monkeypox-spread

UN denounces ‘homophobic and racist’ reporting on monkeypox spread

Perhaps it would then :bounce:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/15/who-to-rename-monkeypox-virus-to-avoid-discrimination

WHO to rename monkeypox virus to avoid discrimination

Urgent move to change name comes after scientists call it ‘inaccurate’ and ‘stigmatising’ as virus spreads
