BBC headline this evening:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-61635822

"The crowd begin gasping and we looked up and some man in a wheelchair [dressed] as an old lady ran up to the painting and started punching it before smearing cake all over it,"

The activist, who was also seen throwing roses in the gallery, was escorted out by security. "Think of the Earth," he declared.

"There are people who are destroying the Earth. Think about it. Artists tell you: think of the Earth. That's why I did this."

Everyone's a critic!

Waste of cake
This with bells on! Went to the Louvre many years ago and thankfully took a special highlights tour whereby you could effectively queue jump to see the most renowned works. The Mona Lisa was just rubbish and you laughed at those queuing hours.

And now here's the rub since I know feck all about art. As part of the tour you get to see stuff like the Raft of the Medusa which even to a heathen is mightily impressive for just it's scale and drama.

What a bloody nut case. Walnut of course, because coffee and walnut cake is just lush.

I thought the opposite. Having always considered the Mona Lisa to be a load of rubbish, I was spell bound on seeing it. Her eyes followed me round the room. It was astonishing.
