Brighton scouted Celtic and Scotland youngster Mitchel Frame at the under-17 Euros in Hungary yesterday.
Frame impressed as he set up Scotland’s goal for Rory Wilson in the 3-1 defeat to France. The left-back was one of the young Scots’s standout performers.
Brighton have joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in trailing the teenage defender closely.
Frame is in his first year of his Celtic professional contract but has already made massive strides. He was also a standout in the recent Youth Cup final that Celtic lifted earlier this month.
The English Premier League sides are both looking at Frame for their development squads but they would need to pay Celtic a significant six figure fee to land him.
Brighton will continue to watch Frame as the Scotland under-17s take on Portugal on Saturday and Germany next Tuesday.
