I've got to say I was extremely happy with how things went this evening.
What did I want to achieve:
Show we can put on a half of football where we outplay a top half Premier League team – CHECK
No bookings for first team regulars – CHECK
No injuries to first team regulars (unless they are one of our four wingers) – CHECK
Vicente to show he is as good as we hoped he was – CHECK
No extra time – CHECK, and
Able to concentrate on the League for a while – CHECK
We managed to do all off those.
Then a couple of bonus items were:
Cook showing he can do the job at centre back for when Dunk picks up his next yellow (good thinking of Gus to play him there, as preparation for if he is needed in the League), and
Vincelot doing a great job covering at full-back.
I'm really, really pleased.
