Im a big fan of the flying sourcer, very fast those. I got to mars in less than 10 minutes. Just a shame those little grey guys kept me strapped to the table so i couldn't se the view.
funny how even thou you lay down on one of those, you still come out with a sore arse.

A Great British hero

Have been reading his book Wings of the Luftwaffe recently. In 1945 he got the chance to recover several Luftwaffe aircraft from Germany back to Farnborough including their jets such as the Me 262 and gave them all test flights. I'll bet it was interesting seeing that fly around the Surrey airspace!

I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks and there's an aircraft museum near where I'm staying, which I'm looking forward to checking out.

Particular highlights for me will be the B-52 Stratofortress and the B1-A Lancer - I'll take some pics and post in here afterwards.

I have an enthusiasm for all military aircraft, where they come from is really no big deal to me.

I'd love to get up close to a Tu-95, for example - awesome piece of machinery, comparable to the B-52.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm currently in Denver and am visiting their local aviation museum today. I'll upload more later, but for now allow me to show you their Rockwell B1-A Lancer.

Just a quick bounce with some photos from my visit today to the Avro Heritage Museum just outside Manchester. It's a small museum, with their pride and joy being Vulcan XM603, freshly repainted last year into gleaming anti-flash white:.
