But has he? NSC seems pretty convinced, but how come SSN and the BBC haven't heard about it, and it's not on the club's official site?

Just asking - I've been out for the evening, so I may have missed something (but if it's just some Tw@tter feed, I'll wait for the official announcement, thanks).

After cocking up bigtime on Wednesday evening they may wait until he’s actually on the pitch at Stamford Bridge playing in a Chelsea shirt

Christ.

Why did we ever let him go?:eek::drool:
No real choice Harry. We get a reputation for holding steadfast to contracts no player with the talent to match their ambition will sign more than a year at a time, all a long contract does is to guarantee financial compensation It's a shit system that guarantees the position of the wealthy clubs. We could go down the root of the Australian salary cap system, that would leave us with a choice bring it in and bring the old fist division back, or keep the money pouring in and accept the reality that only a handful of clubs are pretty much assured of their place in the league. That would then lead to a super league and the same issue of players like this being poached. At least with a super league Div One would be a more level field.

Amazing it hasn't been picked up by SSN, let alone the BBC, yet.

It was going along the bottom of the screen on ssn but not mentionrd .

Found one particular quote from Barber interesting ‘We don’t want to leave Graham with a weaker squad than he would like’

Wonder if GP has made it clear he doesn’t want the player sold? I’m just pleased we aren’t bending over and accepting whatever based on the players transfer request, this is why people (and me) criticise the handing in of the transfer request in order to force the clubs hand into accepting a lower bid for a player they have a higher value for

Bissouma wasn’t a specialist CDM when we signed him, but we turned him into one of the best. There is no reason that Potter couldn’t do that again with another player, or as he’s often done before, he’ll adapt how we play to fit with those players at his disposal. No one would have thought Marc Cucurella could play as a centre back but it took less than one season to turn him into an excellent one. I’m sure Potter will overcome and adapt the lack of a direct replacement for Biss, if one even exists that is.

When Biss joined we had Stephens, an experienced CDM. We now don’t have one. That’s all I’m saying, we don’t have a player who has really had a consistent amount of game time playing that position. I find that a touch worrying seeing as Bissouma was our best player and his absence is clearly going to leave a big hole in the midfield. I have no doubt that Potter will once again be expected to somehow turn one of our existing players into world beater, but in my personal opinion I’d feel happier if we had an experienced/recognised CDM.

Out of curiosity when was the quote dated? As things stand* the first XI I’d obviously far weaker and we don’t have a left back.

*assuming Cucu has gone.

Some City fans on Bluemoon aren’t bitter at all…like this one

We don’t NEED him, grow up or grow a pair. Christ on a bike! Who ****ing cares about a bang average player with one international cap and one season in the premiership? Don’t you remember how shit he was when we played them?

Graham Potter is living on earth so I think he has no problem with Cucurella being sold at that price.

I think those words meant "if we sell quality players we'll try to buy quality replacements, but I can't use those words in case those plans ****s up".

I've woken up to being glad this has been resolved.

£62million ( if the add-ons happen ) for a player who was great but very clearly wanted out. I hope we have a sneaky sell-on percentage as well.

The job is only half done though - we need that Left Back, or preferably LB/LWB, signing ASAP. Top priority.

Have I missed something? Where does it officially say he’s sold and that Colwill is coming on loan?

I don’t believe a word Romano posts, he has jumped the gun numerous times already and been wrong on this.

Naylor said Yes.

£55 million + £7 million add-ons. ( Naylor : Well in excess of £52.5 million ).

Colwill to join on loan ( no loan fee ).

All done bar the official announcement today.

I too have my suspicions any of the Twitter stuff has ANY basis in fact - still think he’s going, but I don’t think it’ll happen just yet.

I really hope it IS all tidied up and resolved today. Pretty insettling for the squad ahead of the opening game really.

Doubt it’ll affect the squad too much, Cucurella hasn’t been at the ground all week, and they probably already knew exactly what was going on! We move on…

From the Athletic this morning:

The Athletic understands Brighton will receive an up-front sum for the left-sided Spanish defender of £56million ($68million), with the prospect of a further £7million ($8.5million) in additional clauses.
