We are a PL club, foreign players want to play in the PL. if they aren’t proven at CL level they’ll have to come to lower PL clubs to prove they are good enough before the big move happens. If Cucu’s agent had held out for City when he was at Getafe he’d still be at Getafe. It’s not rocket science.

You do like hitting your head against a brick wall. :lolol:

£40m + £10m realistic add ons paid in the short term (pounds not euros) would be fine imho for a player who has only been with us for a season, who was great from the get-go and who we haven't really needed to "develop" like a youngster, and who cost us £15m. V likeable chap it seems but in the Ben White type camp for me tbf, no huge affection or legend status for us.

Yeah it’s not like thousands of us went out and spent our hard earned money on cucu wigs last season.

And most of them looked nothing like his hair...more like Francis Rossi from Status Quo!

I’ve said this elsewhere but if City don’t think he’s worth £50m at todays prices - why do they want him?

What they think he's worth and what they're trying to pay are totally different.

They sold his predecessor for more than they are trying to low ball us with. Just being dicks

I’m a bit surprised with Cuc requesting a move bearing in mind how much he claims to love the club and fans etc. He has obviously been got at one way or another. TB will know how to play it.
Whatever profit we make is good however he is sort of irreplaceable and it will cost us league position if he goes.

How? Agents talk - agents always see clubs as stepping stones

If a club is seen to not play ball agents will talk clients into another option.

How are we not "playing ball"? If they make an offer that is equal or higher than his value it will be accepted. That is the definition of "playing ball".

This . . . . Extremely low ball offer and even poorer form from Cucu to hand in a transfer request ( if its true)

The sooner agents/sharks/crooks get banned from football the better.

TB aint daft. If BW was worth 50 so is Cucu. If anything he's worth more, left footers are special needs for special price . . . I know

Yeah, but it's *only about a million quid per place in the league.

*Only. Blimey.

This is all leaving me with a sour taste.

11 months after joining he wants out. 11 months !

I never minded selling White or Bissouma. Clubs and players went about that the right way.

I don't know how Tony handles this now. He must feel incredibly let down with how this has played out so far. Damage limitation needed with whatever way he goes from this point.

My take on this is that with the transfer request made public its harder for City to walk away from the deal.

Cucu has been advised by his agent to put the request in, im sure the agent has spoken to City and told them or possible City have advise the agent that this T R is what is needed to force Brightons hand. If City walk away now, i bet the agent wont be happy as they have left his player hanging out to dry. Bloom just needs to stick to his price.
With regards to Sundays game, i would start with Cucu, that will show City we mean business. No doubt that will piss them off more.
