Nah. Marc, they didn’t meet our asking price so we’re not selling. However, here’s a new contract with a big pay rise, and when Barca come in for you next year and do meet our asking price, we won’t stand in your way.

And we'll even give our old mucker Cashworth a call and he'll sort you out with an even fatter contract next summer.

Yeah I know the reason Andy Naylor is seen as someone with a bunch of knowledge is because he's been around for a long time and is a part of the psychological inbreeding but Brighton is a part of the international football community now and few of the agents - the far most common source - are based in the city (or even England), meaning a journalist with international connections is probably able to find out a whole lot more about what is going on in Albion than the local dog.

Of course Naylor has some sources in the club meaning he can get some vague injury news and stuff but when it comes to transfer activity there's nothing that points at the club sharing any real information with him and until the day he's actually the first to report that a bid has been made or recieved or similar, I see no reason to change that stance. Personally I really really struggle to understand how people can be so sure that someone who works as a journalist without ever revealing anything actually got inside knowledge on anything of importance. The day he is first with any kind of transfer business, I'll gladly eat my words.

I've been to the training ground a few times to see the u23's. Both times while waiting to be escorted out to the pitch Naylor was in deep conversation with one of his sources, who he sat in the stand in front of me with for the whole game. His some "source" who could give him vague info happened to be the manager (head coach) of the club.

But as always you swan along having never been close to England yet alone our club and know far more than anyone else. You really are one!

you really do post some drivel sometimes dont you? I assume its for affect. Your argument falls down when you start using "inbred" "local dog" and such like. Whether you like it or not Naylor and Owen are given info by the club, when Naylor states something no- its far more often than not correct. No one is saying the local guys are world renowned transfer journos breaking news of players moving between the top clubs in the world-we all know they arent. BUT they do have the ear of the club. We arent talking about an incoming transfer from Real Madrid here- we are talking about an outgoing that so far Naylor has been spot on about- Romano has been saying a bid is coming and its a done deal for over a month, Naylor has been saying thats not the case.

When Naylor has said its on , guess what-its on. Romano is only right because he has said a bid is coming in the next day or so for weeks and weeks-eventually he was going to be right. If he was really ITK over this, he would have said exactly what Naylor has been saying for weeks, no bid is being made yet,

I can not fathom why you seem to have this dislike of Naylor and why you cant understand why a local trusted journo , who has been reporting on the club for years, and actually checks and gets confirmation before posting anything may actually be correct. Is he going to break earth shattering news-no, is he going to give us actuall researched info-yes.
This. It's very boring Swansman, please pipe down as you haven't spent 20 years following what the Argus have to say.

Personally, I trust everything Naylor and Owen say, particularly when they are debunking rumours. If they say something is bollocks, it tends to be bollocks.

Romano interests me but he's one of those people who wants a scoop and as such he is going to get some things right and some things wrong. I don't care if he's the best at what he does, I'd rather wait an hour or two, or even a day - and then get the actual fact.

I've just read that, Wolvihinonino or whatever he calls himself is one huge knob.

Brighton board out of their depth. Where do these pricks come from they speak more shit than those idiots whoring themselves on some Island.

Of course he won’t be ‘first’ with transfer news - because there is such a vast amount of utter shite posted as ‘ITK’ online that pretty much any player we buy or sell will have been referenced by someone, somewhere at some point among their hundreds of tweets and they’ll claim they were correct. What Naylor does frequently (undoubtedly fed by club sources) is squash some of the BS, or - as in this case - confirm there has been a bid, the amount and that it has been rejected (I’d deduce from that the club clearly want it known that they’ve flatly refused the bid as well, Naylor won’t be posting based on agent BS or stuff he’s picked up elsewhere).

This.

The twatter gossips are covering every possible base with infinite variations. They may end up looking correct a few times a window, few remember the 100’s of snippets that were false.

Blue Moon is even more amusing - even they are calling Romano out as ‘talking shit’ for that tweet :lolol:

Tw@tter is even more ridiculous (no surprise there, of course).

"Disappointing the price is so high. Maybe he shouldn't have signed such a long contract."

arguing this particular toss is anybody's guess..

Well, it’s more a case of arguing with the tosser.

Just wait for his current manic high to end, I’ve noticed usually around 12 hours later. The grandiose posting and conspiracy stuff all stops, until a few days later when the next “delivery” arrives. And I’m not talking about pizza.

Well went to the Bible concert ( yes I know but it was free tickets ). Spoke to someone who would know the latest and not sounding to good for Cucu staying if valuation met.

But what is the valuation? If I was TB it would be 60m. FFS, have City EVER paid less than 50m for a fullback. Manure paid 50m for **** Bissaka, not to forget 80m for a fridge.

Just read a report on Sporting Life that says City think that Brighton are asking £20M too much.
They must have been given a figure then, based on this.

More likely that some know-nothing has made up 50m as the asking price on twitter and it has snowballed from there. If City have actually opened up with 30m I wouldn't even answer their calls for the next year.

Fair enough. But how long did it take Biss to shine compared to Cucu?

Cucu really hit the ground running, slotted straight into the team and improved us immediately. Biss didn’t.

Yeah that’s fair. But I really feel Biss will show he’s one of the best midfielders in Europe now he has the bigger stage. I think he’s that good. Had a slightly wobbly season, probably for obvious reasons, and was still easily the best player on the pitch on many occasions.

And in other startling news, it rained last night and the ground got wet.

Of course we'll sell IF our, that's OUR, valuation is met. I didn't need to go to a biblical event to work that out.

So, don't buy him. Simples.

Hope it's true.

A lot of sources get factual news before Naylor. They also get the tosh as well. And the tosh accounts for most of it.

The difference between the two is that Naylor only prints facts. I can only recall one he got wrong in the last few years. Hence the 'Naylor says No' NSC folklore phrase.

So for me, nothing is fact until Naylor casts his verdict. Everything else is just noise.

A little fact for you. A good few years ago I deliberately started a false rumour in social media, to prove the madness, about a plausible signing for the Albion, presenting it with a false quote from a Spanish outlet. It took only a few days to reach media outlets. That's how easy it is.

Naylor said 'No' and quashed the rumour. He mentioned his sources in Spain. So he is well connected, because it was a position we needed and, despite the player being perhaps slightly above our station it wasn't out of the question. I had carefully chosen.

It's not over until it's Naylored.

He’s a brilliant player, and I hope he goes on to great things. Shame he had to be dragged off at half time on his last appearance though.
