I first watched Brighton 1976, since then this is Utd's record. Then look at what they've won since the Glazers bought the club.

Feel sorry for their fans FFS get a grip.
£2.1Bn spent on players under the glazers, £.1.7bn in past decade.
Those terrible Glazers, bleeding them dry…..🙄
Just suck it up Man U, and accept the spotlight has moved.

their supporters deserve so much better.
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the exact opposite of this.

Would love to catch up with some of the United supporting kids in my school and ask them how they feel now. Whether they fancy taking the piss now.

Let's not get sentimental here. They're still one of the richest clubs on the planet, one of the most decorated clubs on the planet and they will be back on top at some point.

A tragic tale this isn't, they're not going out of business like some other clubs who's fans actually do deserve more.

In short: f*** 'em

This will hurt The premier League co-efficient though.

That crossed my mind, contributing to 4 and not 5 CL places next season.

It will but we are in a 4 way shoot out with Italy, Spain and Germany for one of the two extra places next season. Spain have now lost Sevilla and Osasuna from their teams that qualified for Europe and Germany have lost Union Berlin. We could do with Newcastle knocking AC Milan out tonight and then 4 countries have lost at least 1 side.

Although it would be hilarious if Man Utd getting knocked out of the Europe led to the Premier League not getting that extra spot and they then finished 5th in the Premier League.

That really could happen. Seven Hag’s doing a wonderful job of eliminating them from cups, they can concentrate on the PL, Horse-Teeth nicking some against the run of play 1-0 wins as they stumble to fifth.

why does anyone feel sorry for these over entitled pricks, same as Everton, and Newcastle. Hearing them bleat on about the Glazers not spending, and not winning. Its all crap, as someone posted 2Billion pounds spent since the Glazers took over. Its not the investment thats lacking, its who they are hiring, its the ethos around the ground, its how the club is run. They cant get out from Fergusons shadow and its holding them back

Its not like they havent won trophies, we would love to have been half as succesful as they have been, most clubs fans would.

Ferguson said on hisretirement that the team needed a complete rebuild, andhe didnt have it in him for the 3-4 years it would take. He said to hire Moyes and give him the time to do the rebuild. They never gacve him, or any of the other managers the time to do that, accepting that it would mean a few years without winning everything. They just spend on players and wonder why they arent winning like city despite changing managers and letting senior players dictate what happens

All of the time the Glazers continue to bleed the club dry, they'll never win anything. Everything about the club is toxic. I actually feel sorry for the fans. We should know better than most that no one deserves to watch their club suffer ad infinitum, without any hope of redemption. Even the dream team of myself and HWT couldn't achieve results there.
Mmmm.....well.....let's not be hasty....

To anyone saying the Man U fans deserve better, were you on Wembley Way after they knocked us out very luckily in the semis and were absolutely lording it in the most classless and aggressive way?

f*** all of them. Hope they get relegated

Monday morning is my prediction, if Liverpool at Anfield goes as expected.
From what I have read, it is unlikely anything will happen until the Ratcliffe take over is completed.

Quite possible - I don’t know the in’s and outs to be honest. I just think crashing out of Europe in their worst ever campaign and then getting absolutely pumped at a rival would be a natural end. They may turn up and get a result, but they would have to improve massively.

i detect sarcasm, though a large amount of their fans do have this view. ignoring the massive spending on players every window. they just seem to have a string a managers who cant get a tune out of the squad.

I endorse this message. It was over the top all that crap. That said some United fans I chatted with on the tube heading north were very honest and fair, if a little patronising.

My worry with all the ETH issues is whether United might do a Chelsea and come manager sniffing.

The problem is I would imagine some bright spark up there is this very moment thinking that a perfect fit for them would be RDZ.

I thought the team were insulting last night because for the first 10 minutes they looked really up for it (showing that they have been pissing about in the league) and after a bit they all went "nah, your OK mate. I'll collect me money and later find some birds to get me 'ands on" and started jogging around like they were winding down a raining session.

The new manager would be wise to get rid of half the squad and bring in some Roy Keane types, and perhaps bring forward some of the youth (assuming that aren't already ruined by money, entitlement, Baby Bentlys and horrible fake-tanned women with tit and lip implants).

I note the 'get a grip' post above that lists what United have won since the Glazers took over. I have edited it to remove all the runner up 'trophies' and silly baubles like the charity shield (which even Brighton have won).

If you consider the FA cup as a top tier trophy (even Brighton are 'in' the Europa League), then United have won nothing much since 2016. Given all the league titles and European cups of the Fergy era, this is a massive downturn, barely better than Leicester, and Leicester have won the EPL, which United haven't. "We've seen it all, we've won the lot" since Fergy left, we're f***ing shot.

Maybe someone can explain this to me, but why are they so hellbent on getting the Glazers out?

Normally the complaint is a lack of investment in the playing squad, or lack of investment in stadium/facilities, or poor managerial recruitment.

Their appointments, on paper have been quality. They’ve gone for choices the fans would be behind (club legend Solsjær, consistent winner Mourinho, top European coach Ten Hag) - even Rangnik was a solid appointment on paper.

They have among the best, if not the very best, facilities in the country and a world class stadium which they are always developing.

Then the main thing, their net transfer spend - which is easily the highest in the league across the last ten years at a whopping -£1245.29bn !!!

Compared to our -£57.09m.

Below is year on year, last year from left to right. Data here; https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/fuenfjahresvergleich/wettbewerb/GB1

I'm not sure Old Trafford is either world class or always developed currently. Historic, certainly, but it is becoming increasingly dilapidated and in need of a lot of money being spent on it.

In terms of the footballing side, I guess it's a lack of a coherent strategy - it all seems so scattergun. Anyone can spend a lot of money (see also: Everton and Chelsea) but without a plan, that supposed investment can look wasteful (see also: Everton and Chelsea).

These are fair points, but their strategy is based on appeasing the fans and doing what the biggest clubs do. Getting the biggest stars, on the highest wages, for eye-watering fees and playing that same old (questionable) “most famous club in the world” tune to death.

If they changed owners and put together an actual strategy (as was the plan with Rangnik) a lot of fans will be very pissed off because it won’t bring them instant success.

Getting a young, unproven coach and blooding “unknown” young players will be given all of three months and if results aren’t instantaneous, they will fall back into the same desperation buys they have done since Ferguson left.

Reminds me of Chelsea under Potter, they wanted success and they wanted it now. Having a long term project is near impossible when no matter how deluded, their fanbase expects to be challenging for the title immediately.

I haven’t checked the numbers, but I’m fairly confident even Man United haven’t spent a trillion in the last decade 😅
