Anyone think that Gus won't be winning this?

Think it might just be won now but just hope the curse of manager of the month doesn't strike!

Who could possibly come close....maybe the Bournemouth fella?

This curse of the manager of the month is a bit of a myth. What happens is that a club has an above-average run netting its manager a MotM award - what then tends to happen is that the next month is more average or even below par, looking like the award is a curse. But dips in form are to be expected and would happen whether someone is MotM or not.

If we take Gus in Sep, he got 13 points from 5 games - 2.6 a game. If he did that over the course of a season he'd amass 120 points, more than any team has ever done. Clearly, that run can't be sustained and if he gets 7 points in October, say, that will look like a dip in form (cue "Curse of the award" claims) but he'd have still grabbed 20 points in 10 games - good enough to win the league.

It will definitely be Gus, and forget the curse, he is going to win every month over and over again and we are going to win the league with 100+ points, hoorah hoorah, unless of course we don't.

.... Who & when was the last Albion manager of the month?.... I'd guess it would be from Micky Adams' first spell.....

It'll be richly deserved if Gus does win the manager of the month award.

The superstitious thing about losing the first match after is like saying Friday the 13th is unlucky. It's just the same as any other day!

Has to be Gus. I was looking out of interest before the Brentford game and I think us and Swindon had both won 3 and drawn 1 this month with Rochdale next. Swindon lost last night so I think there is only one option really. In a way, you could argue that Rochdale winning 3 and drawing 2 is a better achievement but they only seem to base it on results rather than how the team did compared to expectations.

Gus is flair enough to break the hoodoo
