No doubt it was the rebels - interesting to see the American retaliation to it

Is MH17 going to be a Franz Ferdinand?

I would seriously hope not,it's not a scenario even worth joking over...god forbid a conventional war did break out,it would soon escalate with at first, use of a small "tactical" nuclear missile,before-mutually assured destruction took place..

You make that comment so casually, it's as if you were speculating about the latest antics in the big brother house.

Crazy talk.

sigh.

So an aircraft travelling at an altitude of 10,000ft supposedly shot down by a missile does not disintegrate, all lands at the same spot, with large pieces of debris intact. The bodies didn't disintegrate, but are found almost undamaged on the ground........then within 5 minutes Russia is blamed.

fishy beyond words.

What if the missile hit the tip of a wing or damaged the tail and not a direct hit of the fuel supply? We don't have enough information as yet to discover whether there was communication.

Aside from that, I jumped out of a plane from 10,000ft and itnreally isn't that far up.

i reckon it'll be the opposite, Russia will back off in the Ukraine and the rebels will be left to their own devices, and probably give in.

So modern ground to air missiles costing about 50k each just clip the wings now do they? hehe, we are not in the 1940s.

If 200 of you jumped out of a plane would you all land in the same spot? Nope.

Tin foil hats have not arrived - just someone questioning the official story which appears very neat and uniform all across western media.....giving a large anti-russia stance.

watch a few military aircraft being shot down, more often than not an aircraft will not be completely destroyed, very feasible, especially if the altitude was only 10,000 ft,further, take lockerbie, large chunks of the airframe remained in tact, after it crashed..

Just for clarity as you all seem to be talking in terms of feet - the altitude is reported as 10,000 metres.

BBC News said:
Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine's interior minister, was quoted by the Associated Press as saying the plane had been hit by a missile at an altitude of 10,000m (32,000ft). The claim could not be verified independently.

It's a missile designed to bring down (assuming this is the case) a small jet fighter, not a lumbering great jet airliner..

Conspiracy theorists are now having a field day..

I did think it strange that an intercontinental flight would be at 10,000 ft during that stage of the journey.

It could also be passports recovered and put on a bit of turf/ground as they didn't have a filing cabinet to hand.
