The statement released by Malaga

Málaga Club de Fútbol would like to state that yesterday, Monday 14th January 2013, the reasoning for the decision reached by UEFA on 21st December 2012 was received, banning the Blue and Whites from taking part in European competition during the next four seasonsThis penalty, dubbed the ‘Out of Europe’ campaign, is conditional on a second season according to the compliance of certain financial parameters, and was justified 24 days after notification of the decision was received in writing, and refers primarily to Spanish tax legislation.

Following a comprehensive review of the decision, Málaga Club de Fútbol reiterates the message that they are in absolute compliance of the ‘Financial Fair Play’ rules, as previously stated when the resolution was first issued. Making full use of their rights, and with the intention to demonstrate this absolute compliance in front of a tribunal, the Martiricos Club will appeal the decision to the Sports Arbitration Court (TAS).

Out of respect for the appeals process, and to follow the proper conduct of the competitions that the Club’s teams are involved in, Málaga Club de Fútbol will not assess the content of the reasoning behind UEFA’s decision received yesterday, until the case has been settled. The Club would like to thank everyone for their amazing support all over Málaga province and the entire country. Fans have been unconditionally supporting Málaga CF by speaking out, signing petitions or protesting in person for the past 25 days, for which the Club is extremely grateful.
