Just got in and read all this thread. Riveting.

Anyway - the above post is priceless. Leon has made a cracking start to his Swansea career and scored 2 goals in the first 12 minutes or so of the game. Somone listening to the game posts he has notched his third and Yorkie, believing little Leon to be the anti-christ and reading the oh-so-slow BBC text commentary (typically a good 3-4 minutes behind play) siezes on a glimmer of hope that he's actually been caught offside. Not that he's completed a quick-fire hat-trick.

What is especially funny is that she also determines (from this slow, crap commentary) that these offsides are because the Dons have figured out how to get him offside. Superb!

Anyway - carry on bickering - some more gems like the above please.
That really is a quality rant Bozza. To be fair, there are some equally one eyed people on the other side who refuse to believe that Knight should take any criticism.

As for this game, I'm just thinking of Bryan Wade. What a legend he turned out to be.

I don't think he will have any problems with the fans accepting him at all - a hat-trick on your debut is bound to impress.

He will probably get at least 15 in the rest of the season, but he still has it to prove in the championship - thats not to say he won't - only time will really tell.

Good luck to Leon. Proves the point really. He's very good at that level and can't cut it in the Championship.

Pity we didn't know that and sell him directly after the playoff final when we could probably have got £500k for him.

im pleased for the wee chap with his debut, well done leon.
but if the goals are not going and your attitude towards your boss is not right. nevermind rest of the team (questionable). how can you expect to keep your job. also we would have lost leon at the end of the season with no money at all. dk and mm have to do their best to protect the clubs intrest. and losing a decent player for nothing is not doing that. this club cannot really afford to make a loss on a player, and we should understand that. also if other players think somebody is not trying and still getting in the team in front of them then that makes them question their own ability. which does a lot of harm to players confidance. lets move on now. leon has gone and we made a small profit on him. so no loss and everybody should be happy. just hope we can get a decent replacement.

FWIW - I think we're right to be rid of him. "Thanks for all the service and good luck for the future etc".

Maybe if he wasn't quite so arrogant he wouldn't have had the guts to stand up in front of 70,000 people and convert a penalty late on in a playoff final. And maybe if he hadn't we'd still be in League 1 ourselves.

How in any way does it prove that point? It proves what we all know, that he is a class above at that level. He's yet to play in the Championship with a side that give him decent service.

He served his purpose in the grander scale of things....

Now onwards and hopefully upwards, otherwise we will be down.

But how can we know that for sure? It has never happened before???
