Turkey;7561881 Gregory is actually ahead of Murray as he has a years experience of the Championship already - 39 games and 9 goals for relegated Millwall in 2014/15.[/QUOTE said:
Sounding more and more like CMS except I think he scored 11 in Peterborough's relegation season before coming good in League One again.

I am hoping this is not the guy who scored against us just before Hyypia left? Looked a bit rough and agricultural from memory

It is. I remember thinking the same about Andre Gray (rough and agricultural) when he made the step up to Brentford. Saw Gregory in the televised play-off games last season and thought he looked good but who knows. Always a gamble when looking for value in the lower leagues opposed to proven quality.

Anything can happen but purely based on that video I'd be surprised if we were after someone with his playing style. His goalscoring record says something else entirely of course :lolol:

If its Gregory or no signing then be happy with that.

Increases the options and competition which is absolutely esssential

I've no idea if this rumour is correct or not but it would be amiss for our scouts or Hughton to not look for value in L1 for strikers or new recruits on the basis of how CMS performed for the club.(ie: not as we'd hoped)

The list of Ex L1 or lower league strikers who have then scored 20+ in the Champ is a long one in the last 5 years.

It does seem just a little odd that we would be buying from div 1, for say a couple of million. Yet only a short time ago were about to pay mega bucks for a player.
I personally think Mr Tony is giving it his all this season, hence we've sold no first team players, despite offers. So at a guess I think we won't be buying .....unless it's quality, and enough to push us over that line.

If we are looking at League 1, surely Zach Clough is a better target.

Could not agree more, the no10 we are after, much younger and has played championship football and scored goals.

Much rather have Clough all day long

Still would like us to try for vydra first though.

My Millwall supporting mate reckons Gregory is ok but he's not convinced he'd cut it in Championship. Apparently needs to play off a big striker which would mean he could fit in with other players..

Same opinion from my two Millwall supporting colleagues. They both said he's good but not good enough for our level.

Then they headbutted me and told me to fack orrfffff

50% of this goals last year were penalties weren't they?!

Would be a good addition, could be a 15 goal a season man at this level,

After the prickchard fiasco I wouldn't be surprised that we had deals ready to go but are leaving them until the last possible moment to close them to prevent possible scupperings

The only problem with that approach, is that if the deal goes wrong at the eleventh hour, we have sod all time to look for someone else.

Wouldn't leaving them till the last minute give other clubs MAXIMUM time too scupper them?
