Best wishes to them both, hope they and the baby come through all right. Had hoped he'd be back in Lisbon next week, all set to add "new title-winner" to "new father" in his armoury, but alas not to be.
He was rock solid against France, then a very assured cameo v Croatia. All this after the misery of his dad being banged up just before the tournament, now his missus having complications in birth. Best wishes them both.
He'll be Spurs captain next season, nailed-on. And would have been a better sub than Phil Neville tonight.
