Not sure how much use Bob Monkhouse would be. He's dead.

We couldn't have Le Fondre, it sounds too much like "fondle" and we get enough stick as it is.

Rotherhams last quote was 3m and now he has scored 4 in one match I'd be thinking they will stick to that or ask for even more

SIMON COX won't get into WBA's 25 I suspect so we might have a chance with getting him

On Radio Sherffield today after the game they interviewed Ronnie Moore who said that they had not had 1 single enquiry about Alf as he called Le Fondre but if they did have the bidding would have to start at £2.5m as their chairman is a wealthy man and the club dont need the money.

Tony Bloom was next to us on the train back. We left him a note when he went toilet asking for Lua Lua/Monkhouse, Le Fondre, Hendrie. He read it but made no comment :lolol:

Bit late to get Le Fondre now - his value will have rocketed, and the last few days of the window will inflate prices further.

A real shame - should have gone out and got him as soon as Rotherham fluffed the play-offs - when it was still obvious to everyone here that we were short of strikers.

Oli Johnson would be a good signing. He isn't a man to get 20 odd goals a season but he offers something we don't have with Murray and Barnes and he has a good eye for goal anyway so he could chip with 10/15 in i'm pretty sure.

How do you know who we have appraoched? How do you know anything about any of the negotiations we have or haven't had?

You know nothing about it so for once stop being so bloody self-righteous.

Yep, we need a 10 goal striker. :jester:

Seriously, Oli Johnson would not be a good signing. It would be a nothing signing. We need someone with exprience and pedigree.

It was interesting to hear the Rotherham updates and goals Le Fondre was banging in whilst we were watching a TOOTHLESS attack at Hillsborough (well, it wasn't interesting for some who don't realise there are more than one football team in this country).

We apparently have money, we need a striker, we must at least make a bid.
