Sorry mate - we're still in a democracy (just), so we can wave our EU flags. The more the Leavers hate it, the more Remainers enjoy it!
But they lost so aren't all those EU flags a terrible waste of money? Which is fantastically ironic really!!!

The reason there are so many EU flags is the lefties were handing them out for free outside The RAH.

I can't believe they call the Right facists while trying to stifle free speach and democracy.

We voted LEAVE FFS get over it.

It does reinforce my view that deep down no one likes not getting their way no matter how liberal, embracing or tolerant they talk about being! Tide has been turned before too late and our history and culture are drowned in rivers of blood...:)

Nobody was forced to take the flags. They flew alongside German, French and British flags. Anyone who actually attended Proms concerts or watched the coverage on BBC of the concerts, not just the last night will know there have been pro-EU protests all last season and throughout this season. From the basic flag waving that's upsetting some die-hard Brexiteers to whole orchestras breaking into Joy to Ode, protest speeches made by conductors, and presenters giving brilliant speeches on how the spirit of the Proms is embodied in the EU.
We may have just lost the vote but Brexiteers are genuinely shocked that Remainers aren't going away, a nation is speaking up and speaking out. Get used to it, we ain't goin' anywhere.

The Conductor chap was shit.

His job is to get the whole Hall involved in the last few pieces, which starts with his speech. Reading it from A5 cards like he was giving the awards for 'Photocopier salesperson of the year' flattened the whole occasion.

Bet the people travelling on his bus last night didn't mind though.

Wife asked if the Hyde Park event was free and I didnt realize, until I googled it, but there was a concert on starting at 5.15 with Sir Brynn Terfell, Michael Ball, Steps, One of the Kinks and Elaine Page plus the orchestras presented by Tony Blackburn and tickets were £47.50 each.

The EU flags are an irrelevance here. Merely an iconic token of people's desire not to live in a tax haven. British people would rather live in a decent, functioning, civilised, democratic country. Brexiteers haven't even cottoned on to the point that this government wishes to dismantle many aspects of democracy during (way before 'after') the Brexit negotiations. So what have we taken back control of? Whose democracy has been voted for?

Tragic that many can't or won't see something that is so constantly smashing them in the face. This acquiescence in the name of 'patriotism' is disgusting.

No-one is whinging at the democratic result - even if the whole charade was a farce. No, what many Brexiteers are doing is displaying a breath-taking lack of care, consideration and tolerance for their fellow humans, while the 'leaders' of this country continue their private enterprise-led theft of state assets under the cover of Brexit, while not giving a toss about the consequences; actually, more than that, laughing about it. That's not some 'bolshie' rhetoric, it's already happening on a daily basis. Brexit merely gives the current Tory-led government the opportunity and excuse to accelerate their larceny, to the detriment of society as a whole.

No-one gave anyone the right to dismantle this country, so it's even more appalling that many should applaud it along its way.

The vote to leave Europe, whether you agree with the result or not was a clear mandate for the gvernment to do whatever they considered necessary and appropriate to bring the UK back to ruling itself., which is what they are doing.

No, there is no mandate for the government to do what it wants.

The whole farce was not properly legislated. No considerations were written into the Bill (which enacted the Referendum - itself a non-binding vote) in the event of a choice to leave.

They are, in effect, making this up as they go along, and Parliament - quite rightly - wants to hold the government to account for all it is doing. Sadly, the current administration wishes to introduce (with no vote in the Commons) procedure which will ride roughshod over Parliament - which is the very thing you and most Leave voters wanted to ensure DIDN'T happen in future.

In other words, you wished for Parliament to be sovereign. Now you're saying that, considering what they're doing, you no longer wish for this to be the case. So which is it? Do you want Parliament to be sovereign or not?

That is where we disagree as I believe the people said get us out of Europe how you do it up to you other political parties should have no say in what TM and her party decide to do and will get the opportunity to vote after it has been done if they so wish. It should not be debated in parliament with them having any input, let her stand or fall by the decisions that she makes.

You believe!!!! You are putting your spin on it and saying that you think that is why everyone voted to leave. Some voted because of immigration, some because they wanted the money to go to other uses and some because of the romantic notion of sovereignty. There were probably other reasons as well. You haven't a clue why everyone voted the way they did and neither does the Government. The fact that she lost her overall majority is surely an indication that all is not well in the country and the direction they felt the Conservatives were taking at that time, ie towards a hard brexit.

Yes it was, actually - it was voted for and approved by Parliament. Sorry if that pricks your balloon, but doubtless you will ignore or deny it (in your next post, at a guess).

They are, in effect, making this up as they go along.
Yes, I should hope they are - there is no precedent or laid-down formula to follow, so that is their job.

Sadly, the current administration wishes to introduce (with no vote in the Commons) procedure which will ride roughshod over Parliament...........
On the one hand you insist the Government doesn't know what it's doing, but you do know. That is very impressive...............

...........which is the very thing you and most Leave voters wanted to ensure DIDN'T happen in future.
.......but not nearly as impressive as your laughable claim to know what peoplewsere or are thinking. Millions just disagreed with you - that's all you actually know.

No it wasn't. I disagreed with the vote, but accept it. But I don't think there are many MP's in the House of Commons, of whichever party, who would trust the present government to come up with a decent deal in all this. And the rewriting of law to incorporate all the European stuff in to British law will have to be very carefully done. I don't think the people who are in charge at the moment could oversee the rewriting of a Noddy Book, let alone something as important as this. I have seen David Davis described by the former leader of the Leave campaign as Lazy, Stupid and Vain.
