Sky Sports have just announced that Kanchelskis has been offered a short term deal by Brighton.

Have they only just got wind of this - or does it mean that the deal is imminent?

lets hope so..debut v QPR?

Anyone remember that trick he did when he stood on the ball and pretended to use it to look over a defender head before crossing for bill dods to score?
All aboard the showboat..perhaps we could have a 'showboat esque' toot toot when he gets the ball?

The best one was when he knocked the ball ahead of him, performed a 360 degree spin and then countinued on with his run!

The corner quietly rusting
Does anyone else get the feeling he is stalling until September 01?

Likely his agent putting the word about in the hope that another club may show a bit a late interest. His agent is probably still hoping for some bigger club coming in and offering bigger wages, which means the agent gets a bigger pay packet for his trouble!

I have been led to beleive by someone at the club that he's not fit enough at present to start against QPR, even if:

1. He signs
2. We get Int clearance in time

IF that is true we shouldn't touch him.

It's because he's not played any pre-season matches for us or anyone else... he may be fit, but not match fit.

HAVING SAID THAT IT DOES SAY HE'S HOLDING TALKS ON THE BBC SITE

COPPELL QUOTED AS COMENDING HIM FOR BEING A VERY COMMITED TRAINER

I rate that as:

Kanchelskis holds Brighton talks

Brighton boss Steve Coppell has opened talks with Andrei Kanchelskis over a short-term deal at Withdean.
Kanchelskis, 34, has fallen out with his Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

The ex-Manchester United winger, who had a spell at Southampton last season, has been training with Albion as they are near his East Grinstead home.

Coppell told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "He looks a very, very good player - a very committed trainer.

"I'm led to believe he's had offers from Japan and Saudi - a lot depends on what he wants to do with regard to his family

A short term deal might be good for both parties.

We run the risk of having half a team who could depart at a moment's notice, mind.
