Obviously not..
In this competition why not give fringe players and younger players a chance, it isnt exactly a big cup and its only good if you win and are Brighton likely to? Today Scunthorpe looked quicker to the ball and lively, they rested alot of players in mid week against Notts County and i think its proven the right choice. Adams should learn from this and it also avoids are big names getting injured like Virgo!

If you don't field a certain amount of first team players you get fined now I think.

You're not allowed to play all fringe players, the majority of your team have to be regulars in the side. Lynch and Loft got their chance against Northampton, and that was the right decision IMO.

Complete agree with you bowden. Top post:thumbsup:

Should be used for likes of Fraser, Dixon, Pearson to see how far off the first team they really are.

He won't learn, it will be another strong team against Orient in October:(

Completely disagree.

If the Albion are going to enjoy any kind of success this season, it's becoming increasingly obvious it's going to be in a cup competition rather than the league. Suspect the club would settle for the Man City pay-day and an awayday to Wembley for the the St Johnstone's Piss Pot. It's all money in the bank. Which will be sorely needed as people drift away from the shit served up at Withdean in the league.

It's worth it yes, a nice little cup run to get the morale of the team up. I don't think there is any harm in fielding a few fringe players to give them a bit of a run about. If it wasn't for the Northampton game MA wouldn't have seen how good Joel Lynch was.

Yet we still started with Hawkins and Elphick today:lolol:

you mean that it should be used to give players out of the team like loft and lynch a chance to show if they are good enough to be part of a winning side and whether they should be used more regularly in the first team?

But Elphick and Hawkins have been playing great as a pair for the whole season. It would have been difficult for MA to drop either Hawkins or Elphick. At least MA knows that after the Northampton game that we have a competent CB in the form of Lynch to cover/replace with Hawkins or Elphick.
