I also agree with this.

I'd be happy to sign Collins as short term cover but then put him in as 4th choice behind White. However, if Dunk is out for months we would need 4 centre backs in the squad in that time.

If Dunk is out for months we would have four CBs if we had signed Collins as a short term cover behind White!

Personally (FWIW - which I admit ain't much!) I think signing Collins would be a waste of wages. In the unlikely event of losing two more CBs before Dunk gets back we'd still have Barclay, Bruno and Bernardo - not ideal options, for various reasons (which I'm sure someone will come along and list for us!), but options nonetheless.
