Watched it in the cinema and tonight watched it at home….enjoyable Xmas eve viewing if a tad sad
It was a tad sad and also.. Bonds nanobot curse thing was curable..the nanobots would attack only the correct persons physiology... bond could not go near
his lover and daughter without killing them. The cure is to repackage a strain of nanobots to .....only attack a given type of nanobot.. Simples.

It includesthe unofficial Never Say Never Again and 60s Casino Royale (or at least the prime version does).

The offical ones are also being re-released in cinemas in order.

That's interesting.

Which of the older ones do you think teenagers will like the most? Mine like all the Craig ones, but my daughter isn't interested in watching old ones.

Define "older", I guess! Goldeneye is 27 years old, I'm sure to her it would be ancient.

I think many of them are considered too silly now. A movie like Goldfinger looks like a not-so-funny comedy now.

Dr No and FRWL maybe, perhaps OHMSS as well. YOLT, also a bit silly but still pretty cool. Dont know if the Moore and Dalton movies would impress the yoof. Out of Brosnans movies (now "old") I think the kids would love Goldeneye while the others are shite no matter how old you are.

Goldeneye is a good shout, I'm sure she'd like that.
I wanted to get them to watch all the good ones in order - we watched Dr No, but she gave up so it was just me and my son. I don't know what she'd currently describe as 'too old' (apart from me, obviously).

She's not against all old films, but the decent modern action films do have a lot to offer.

Some old films she likes: Murder on the OE (1974), plus DOTN (78), And Then There Were None (74) - so she likes her mystery films whatever the year

I'm reliving Pierce Bronson Bond.

Absolute bunkum but not without its moments.

For me a lot of the "older" (80s and earlier) blend into one film that I watched that one bank holiday, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. The screen drafts podcast ranked the official james bond movies shortly after no time to die came out (with space for either casino royale or never say never again). https://screendrafts.libsyn.com/jam...iya-sinha-roy-bryan-cogman-and-dave-schilling if you have over 5.5hours to spare. Or you can see their final list on lettebrboxd: https://boxd.it/enbuE

Dr No, From Russia with Love, Goldeneye, Thunderball and the spy who loved me ranked high.

But I suppose it will depend on the teenagers in question and what sort of film fans they are (if they normally turn their noses up at older films or can appreciate something despite lower production values etc)

In fairness, he does say this above; "Some old films she likes: Murder on the OE (1974), plus DOTN (78), And Then There Were None (74) - so she likes her mystery films whatever the year".

But yeah, I'd say Goldeneye. It's absolute nonsense as the fella says above, but it's enjoyable, hugely cinematic nonsense. She might get a kick from Sean Bean who I really enjoy in this (GoT) and Brosnan himself (Mamma Mia) if she watched either of those growing up.

Even Bond isn’t strong enough to survive Wokeism. Dreadful film, too long and textbook run out of ideas franchise. Probably should now be retired if off screen politics has to be pandered too. Sean and Roger will be rolling in their graves. Mission Impossible and Bourne more enjoyable fair.

Awww. I loved the ending. Mind you, I loved that whole film, one of the best for me, alongside Casino Royale, Skyfall, Dr No (vocal chords) and Goldfinger.

Couple of absolute belting films last year, West Side Story was also superb.

Not ashamed to say both films moved me to tears (and no, not of boredom) in different ways. Completely different films but the standard of each absolutely sky high in every department

I've always loved Goldeneye but Tomorrow Never Dies is better then I remember. Die Another Day is the battle for worst Bond along with ..Golden Gun, Quantum of Solace and Spectre

Die Another Day is the absolute dirt worst in my opinion. It's the only one I haven't seen all the way through. I left the theatre 45 minutes early, I just couldn't take any more.

Also, THE worst Bond song ever (it sounds like Kraftwerk in a traffic jam) - and I should point out I am the guy who made the "Madonna - The Greatest" thread.

Absolutely irredeemable in every single department. INVISIBLE CAR!!!???

Yep, should have finished reading the thread before replying.

This. This. And more this. First time since 1980 not seen a Bond in cinema and what a lucky escape. We watched in 2 parts and have to say following evening we’d completely forgotten about 2nd half it was that dull. Now it’s 3hrs of life won’t get back. What a waste of film. The worst Bond EVER.

Bond was great in the era of Connery & Moore . Since then it’s gone steadily downhill .

Strongly disagree, you can't seriously compare "The Man with the Golden Gun" to "Casino Royale". I mean, even objectively... Surely...
