Almost a year ago we kicked off at Man Utd (A)

This was the squad/19 that day

Out: Colwill, Mwepu, Trossard, Undav*, Sanchez*, MacAllister, Sarmiento, Maupay

And Potter

In: Verbruggen, Dahoud, Buonanotte, Igor Julio, Milner, Joao Pedro

AND Ferguson, Estupinan , Gilmour Enciso - not in squad that day - have now become squad regulars.

And returning loanees - Alzate, Adingra.

And RDZ…

I think 100% it is a better team now than this time last year. More
depth, experience and talent, across the team.

It's a good question, and one I can't really answer until the end of the transfer window. IF we keep Caicedo then I'm going to say 'yes'.

I am going to say yes. Even if Moises goes (I actually think he'll stay now) the upgrade in our attacking potency has been significant. The midfield is still solid, and I suspect after a month or so will be operating at full speed again.

Defensive cover remains the concern, with Igor's arrival I'm good with the four CBs, shame we do not have a LB specialist backing up Pervis, if Tariq is fit again I think he's a good back up to Veltman.

Why probably on Sarmiento - he’s out on loan isn’t in?

I would also add some of the returning loan players.

Overall a deeper, stronger and more experienced squad. The extra year for the young players will make a big difference.

Surely stronger now and playing sublime football under RDZ. Hopefully the young guns will continue to improve under his tutelage. UTA.

The numbers in the squad are similar to the end of last season and we really struggled with playing 2 games a week so I’d like to see more strength in depth added to cope with European football.

The only returning loanees likely to be in the squad are Alzate and Adingra. (Mentioned)

Yep - Sarmiento. I meant Sanchez and Undav probably in fact likely to leave.

The others remaining (Connolly, zeqiri, karbownik) are not in RDZ plans and will go or have gone.

Are they ?
Unlikely we sign many more players . In fact we still have plenty to be sold / loaned.

I’m not sure that case stands up in the PL when they go on pre season tours to America where they play 3 games in a week. That accusation used to be leveled at the likes of Man U and now equally applies to us.

Has Undav definitely gone, then?

Yes, this is our strongest squad ever.

Out - MacAllister, (Colwill)

In - Pedro, Adingra, Milner, Dahoud, Verbruggen, Igor Julio. Could also argue Gilmour, Buonanotte, Ferguson, Enciso, Undav are all "new" because they weren't in the frame for basically the first half of last season. So now vs day 1 last season - yes, huge upgrade.

Agree with the point if Caicedo goes, the overall level drops. But I think the depth now is fantastic. Gives us a real opportunity to balance playing time and midweek euro games.
