I''m enjoying '12th place' on NSC being code for glass half full, while other posters prefer the half empty version, 'just above relegation'.

I thought we would be bottom 5 for sure. Still a long way to go but very glad that I've been proven wrong so far.

I voted for: "bottom end of the table, not waving but drowning" but the margins are wafer thin - we're only 3 points above the bottom 5. If Palace win today (and it's just the sort of thing they'd do) then we'd only be 2 points from the bottom 5.

If West Brom win today, and with Arsenal's flakiness it's a distinct possibility, then 4 points will separate 9 teams. We'd be at the top of that pile, but it would be oh-so-tight.

We could quite conceivably move up to 10th after the next round of games.

If that happens then cue a week or so of people talking about what a FANTASTIC job Chris Hughton is doing down at Brighton...
