I was lucky enough to have a bit of local knowledge in the car so we did some cut-throughs to meet the A580 at the last minute before the M57 junction, then went M57 over a very impressive iron bridge at Runcorn and then along the M56 and onto a very busy M6. Back in Northants by 9:30.

M53/M56 so much easier. I parked near Goodison and there were no delays at all.

Yep same route I took (gave a mate a lift home which forced me that way) but took me 2 hours back to Kenilworth (nr Coventry). M53 was dead.

I drive to Liverpool a fair bit and the bit onto the M62 from Liverpool is always a complete git.

We went via M53 and Wallasey toll tunnel £1.50 very quick and only 5 mins walk from the ground. We waited 10 min at the car, wife having a coffee before driving off Stopped for dinner at Walsall and the again for coffee at the services plus dropping off grandson in Guildford and was back in Haywards Heath about midnight.

Very pleasant Sunday drive for my wife.
