pitching just a few mm outside leg... otherwise looked like it had him trapped... good decision from umpire Dharmasena.

167-5 (31 overs)

145 from 19 (RRR 7.63)

Archer back into the attack...

Archer Time?

I think Archer Time for Sussex has ended this afternoon, can see him given a Central Contract by the time the WC is over and him being taken away from us and wrapped up in cotton wool.

Rashid to Phehlukwayo, OUT, Ben Stokes, that is absolute fifth! Absolutely leathered through deep midwicket ... and Stokes somehow launched himself horizontally towards the rope, timing his jump like a mortar from its tube, and clinging onto a certain six, in his outstretched right hand! My God, that is an utter, utter worldy! If Alisson got a mitt to a screamer like that in Madrid on Saturday and tipped it over the bar, we would be talking about it for years...

AL Phehlukwayo c Stokes b Rashid 24 (25b 4x4 0x6) SR: 96.00

Sensational, that:

[tweet]1134130356301553665[/tweet]

You might want to pop that on the Blue Jays Facebook group, after they were all going mental about Davis' catch last night. He was wearing a GLOVE though. The cheat.

Start the car... Plunkett get Amla... bangs in a short one, Amla hooks airily and the top edge flies through to Buttler :clap2:

What's a part score, and r we on target for it?

As the old cricket adage goes - you never know what is a good score until both teams have had a bat.

Par across the tournament, for the big teams, is likely 340 - 360 or so. Par in any one match is much harder to predict - dependent as it is on the surface and the weather conditions.

England 311-8 (50 overs)

Below par, will have to bowl exceptionally well to win this one.

Your old adage is shit.

England win by 104 runs. 311 was well OVER par.

It wasn't a flat top like we usually see at The Oval. Something in it for the bowlers. Good old one day pitch for the purists- few of whom seem to be left.
