Great result today, what a long way we have come since then 7-1 defeat to Huddersfield in August 2009. El-Abd was the only player in the squad today to have played both games.

I remember listening on the radio and feeling beforehand quite optimistic about our prospects for the season. What a shambles and quickly followed by a 4-2 mullering at home by Stockport I think.

From an abysmal El-Abd backpass. One of my most vivid memories of watching the albion that game, and for all the wrong reasons. Still remember Dickinson's superb goal as clear as day when we were still in the game!

That was the worst away game I've been too. Although Dickinson scored a beautiful half volley.

That's true: Kuipers was abysmal even before getting sent off trying to save the day following an abysmal back pass. I think Smith might actually have saved a penalty when he came on?

Was one of those "so bad it's hilarious" games. I remember a few people trying to leave after about 75 minutes, so we blocked the exits and told them if we were going to endure that crap then they could bloody well man up & stick it out too.

To their credit, they did :lolol:

I thought we played well in patches that night, sadly the patches were measured in seconds.

But what a goal from Bruce! Possibly the only decent thing he did for the £300k we splashed out on him.

Funny how Smith followed up Kuipers' sending off by being booked straight away...

Was thinking about the 7-1 drubbing after seeing us win yesterday, just goes to show how far we've come in actually what is not a long time scale, 4 years from being a mediocre league 1 side to a promotion contender championship side is pretty decent, let's hope we can cling on to that play-off spot!

spot on he did indeed save a penalty and made some cracking saves. It was just a crazy crazy game. I dont have much luck with going to huddersfield, obviously with that 7-1 but also the season before when we drew 2-2 at the back end of the season i was on my way up there and there was a big accident on the m1 and it was at a standstill for over 4 hours. I had to call home and get them to put the commentry on the computer with the phone next to it!

I saw an Albion player get a hat-trick there too a few years ago, wonder what became of him?
