What's a space saver wheel?

A temporary spare wheel, thinner than a normal road wheel which limits you to 50 mph, they were introduced to encourage drivers to repair/replace damaged tyres rather than having an unserviceable tyre in the boot.

If your on a road trip through the states and suddenly your tyre bursts in the deep dark forest I'd guess that's pretty frustrating going by the movies.

No they wern't.
read it again what its called. A space saver wheel.

Yes they were, 15 years in the tyre trade and I remember when they became "the norm" as I've had to explain it thousands of times. Do a bit of research before making yourself look a bit stoopid  the term "space saver" is widely used as it was found to be more widely acceptable than "temporary spare"
