What do you mean by malicious content? Viruses etc.

If you have some technical knowhow you could use this service which requires you to deal with DNS settings on your router

https://adguard-dns.io/en/welcome.html

It will block known malicious websites and other internet nasties at a network level so anyone logging on to your home network will benefit.

No, harmful content. I need to block porn, self-harm, abuse etc from anywhere but particularly within the likes of Facebook and Instagram if that is possible.

If you’re referring to pop ups etc. Use Opera as your browser and turn it up to 11. Yep - Opera can block virtually the entire internet if you so choose.

On mobile devices, if google is your default search engine open the settings tab from the google homepage and you’ll see options to block explicit search results, vids etc. You may have to be signed into fb etc. to alter the settings therein... but it can be done via any user account.

Google search setting options:

Adguard will do that and allow you up to block social media sites during periods of the day (homework time) etc. It will let you block all porn sites and will force safe search on all browsers. It does cost £2 a month though.

I'm not sure there's anything that will block a random Instagram post if someone decides to post something vile, but that shouldn't be permitted on Instagram/Facebook anyway.
