Foreign exchange brokers - one for the expats I guess

I need to convert a lump of sterling to euros. I want to use a foreign exchange broker to get a better rate than the high street banks. Does anyone have experience of this? Any recommendations? What is the minimum entry amount? Pitfalls? How much does the date improve?

Will you be changing cash or want to transfer money to a foreign bank account?

PM sent.

The Euro rate at the moment is down below 1.20 again for the first time in a while so it may not be the best time to do it unless it is urgent.

Evening mate - hope you and Frau T are settling in. For a short term option, is using an FX card an option for you? I have one from Caxton that I use when I go to the States and their rates are generally better than most available on the High Street. You can move money from your UK account onto a Visa card that you just use as any other debit card.

I use XE Trade - no problems and good rates but their sign up / verification processs is a bit of a pain. Xoom.com (Barclays) seems to be advertised a lot in the States, but not sure how good they are.
