Aston Villa 0-2 Watford*
REPORT: Aston Villa remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table as Watford frontmen Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney do the damage again. Both sides managed three shots on target but, while Heurelho Gomes made a hat-trick of saves, Brad Guzan was helpless to prevent his side from slipping to another defeat. In a closely-fought contest, the Hornets' cutting edge proved decisive, while Villa are now without a goal in 270 minutes under Remi Garde.*

REPORT:*In-form duo Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku both found the net for a second game running as Everton extended their fine form against lowly Bournemouth. The pair, who both bagged braces in last weekend's 4-0 victory over Aston Villa, struck either side of the break, sending the Toffees fifth and leaving Eddie Howe's men without a win in eight. The visitors enjoyed 60 per cent of possession and fired seven shots on target, while Tim Howard was called into action just once.*

Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle*
REPORT:*Aleksandar Mitrovic's late strike for Newcastle denied Crystal Palace the victory in a repeat of last season's 1-1 scoreline. Fraizer Campbell salvaged a point for Alan Pardew against his former club when the club met at Selhurst Park in February, but it was Yannick Bolasie who found the net for the Eagles this time. However, Mitrovic scored his third goal since arriving from Anderlecht in the summer with just the Magpies' third effort on target, making the home side pay for their inability to convert a host of chances.

Manchester City 3-1 Southampton
REPORT:*Manchester City bounced back from their humbling defeat to Liverpool thanks to a first-half brace from Sergio Aguero. Sadio Mane gave Southampton hope of a comeback when he struck seven minutes after the break, but Kevin De Bruyne wrapped up the victory for Manuel Pellegrini's men with his 69th-minute effort. City were good value for the victory, commanding almost two thirds of the possession and creating twice as many chances as their visitors.

Sunderland 1-2 Stoke
REPORT:*Stoke extended their club record of away victories with a fifth successive triumph on the road, denying Sunderland the chance to climb out of the bottom three in the process. Jeremain Lens put the Black Cats on course for back-to-back wins with an early strike but Bojan and*Mame Biram Diouf hit back either side of the break for the visitors. The victory also extends Stoke's winning run to three in a row and leaves them with the joint most points from away games in the Premier League this season.
