Flooding!







Scroll west a few clicks from that map of Pevensey Bay and you'll find a place that's marked "Traditional Site of the Landing of the Normans 1066".

It's about three miles inland.

Which just goes to show how the coastline changes.

That's why Pevensey Castle was built by the Normans where it is, it was on the coast then

Very scary though looking at what areas along the south coast round this way could be flooded :eek:

i remember the Monster Raving Looney Party having a manifesto policy to force houses built on flood plains to be built on stilts. It doesnt seem so funny after all.

And they've been campagining for 24 Pub licences since the 70's. They are clearly the most progressive party in British politics :drink:

It IS educational - but Pevensey Castle was originally built by the Romans.

who'd have thought it, any one living near a river or on a low coastal plain is likely to get flooded :eek: :eek:

btw has any noticed that Brighton Mraina is a flood risk ??? ???
