Everton are a step closer to a potential £30 million windfall, according to the man in charge of the financiers involved in investing in the club, with nearly £13 million available for January.

Chris Samuelson is heading the Fortress Sports Fund who are interested in investing in The Toffees, with the cash now close to appearing at Goodison Park.

Samuelson confirmed that money may well be available soon, with David Moyes hopefully getting a large chunk to invest in players.

"We have the money, it is being processed and Everton will have it as soon as possible," said Samuelson.

.....

"David Moyes is a very good manager. I'm sure he will have his own choice of players without any interference at all and I'm sure he will buy some very good players indeed.

"The team have been doing fantastically well despite having just a small squad, and hopefully David can improve that with some good new signings."

Would that be in traceable notes?

Moyes did say on Five Live the other night that he definately wasn't going to buy anyone until the end of the season as the people he was after weren't available. He could be bullshitting of course, but then so could the people saying they know he's going to pay £750k for him...
