England vs the aussies Day 2

Any news on the weather?

Boycott was his usual moaning self, saying that we should have got 500.

But I reckon some of the batting yesterday whould have shook up the Aussies, if only one more of the middle order boys had performed. In the end it was a great score and some great batting.

Ponting 51 off 51 balls. Really putting the runs on. Need a wicket soon please.

19.5 Giles to Ponting, OUT: tossed up, on the pad, Ponting goes for the
sweep and top edges straight to Michael Vaughan at short fine-leg.
That is a tame, tame dismissal for a lion of a batsman who looked
well set

Australia 88/2, Partnership of 88
RT Ponting c Vaughan b Giles 61 (76b 12x4 0x6)
JL Langer 21* (48b 2x4) AF Giles 2.5-0-11-1

Ashley Giles has struck. He is understandably ecstatic. There's
nothing quite as good as doing it in front of your home crowd!

118-3 - WICKET! Martyn cuts his fourth boundary but then is run out by Michael Vaughan. Superb work from the England skipper who picks the ball up one-handed, running in from mid-on and twists to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end with a direct throw. That's lunch, back at 1.10pm.

and....

Flintoff to Martyn, no run, RUN OUT! Tip and run goes awry again as
Martyn plays this one towards Michael Vaughan and tries to scamper
a single. Vaughan nails the stumps and Martyn's a goner

Australia 118/3, Partnership of 30
DR Martyn run out (Vaughan) 20 (18b 4x4 0x6)

And with that it is lunch on the second day
Another action-packed session and again you have to say England
have the best of it
:lolol:
