and then CLEANS MISBAH UP with a straight one :clap2:

114 from 199 balls

316-9

Excellent from Woakes and Broad this morning, under some pressure. 3 wickets in 8 balls. They have given us a real shot at winning this one now, if the batters can do a decent job.

Disturbing Cricinfo stat -

2004: Last time a team lost after making 300 in the 1st inns of a test at Lord's.

316/9 - England running through Pakistan now like a dodgy mutton vindaloo.

Amir gives Woakes some stick... two fours, and a petulant 4 byes from a short one flying over Bairstow... 330-9

Pakistan 339 all out (99.2 overs)

Broad gets the last wicket, Amir edges to Root at slip... 3-71

A magnificent SIX for Woakes (24-7-70-6) :clap2:

A very impressive performance from England this morning, but still a decent first innings total for Pakistan.

Big match this now for Moeen Ali.

With Woakes looking the part as a bowler and being a more than capable batsman Ali needs to remind the selectors what he can do with the bat. I fancy his disappointing bowling form over the last 6 or 7 tests will mean the selectors will replace him in that regard, but can he edge James Vince out of the side as a batsman?

Hales. Gone. 8-1

Edge to 3rd slip from Rahat Ali, left arm over... not much foot movement... thick edge.

Root in very early against the new ball and two left arm over seamers... big moment in the game.

Really hope he doesn't bowl a no ball.

Ha ha great to see him back. Given drug cheats often get away with 2 year bans, for an 18 year old, easily influenced instructed from his captain and a senior player to bowling a no ball, while clearly a crime, a jail term and 5 year ban seemed incredibly harsh.

Without wishing to tempt fate... Cook finding the middle of the bat... two nicely clipped for four off his legs.

27-1 (4 overs) Cook 21* (10 balls, 4 fours)

Another milestone reached for Cook as he overtakes Gower as most test runs for England vs. Pakistan.

He loves batting against teams from the sub-continent - for those that are interested, he's also England's highest ever test run scorer vs. India and Sri Lanka too, but only 3rd on the list vs. Bangladesh behind Ian Bell.

Blimey... Cook gets a life at first slip on 22

Prodded at good length ball from Amir.. bit of bounce... good edge to first slip, shin high... and spilled by Hafeez.

38-1
